60th Anniversary – Thank you letter to Congregation
The Diamond Jubilee was a sparkling success thanks to the wonderful committee that worked with me these past months.
Doris Wright did a fantastic job of decorating the hall with balloons, sparkling diamonds and a twinkling 60 years. The timeline is timeless and will be added to in years to come as will the list of all members by decade. The candid shots on the tables were superb and an enjoyment of all.
Patti Nanney reminded us each month of the events in the world, the community and SBPC for each decade. She helped design bulletins, name tags and the place cards besides keeping the committee on track as to what we needed to do these last few months. She kept us posted through the Pres press of celebration news.
Laurie Mitchell and Ethan developed the wonderful entertaining movie and picture show with past and present members and events trying to include pictures of all who were going to attend. She also had the beautiful stain glass window pictures made as door prizes.
Allen and Matt helped in gathering information from former members and were the support posts anchoring the committee.
A big thanks to Ferrell Thorpe and Kay Craig for coordinating with Absolutely Divine to cater the delicious meal.
Thanks to Kate Cross for getting our Logo on merchandise with Lands End and being certain that information was always on the website.
Thanks to Dick Slover and Cliff Powell for emceeing during the dinner.
On Saturday and Sunday, many hands helped the committee to prepare the church for the affair. The property committee of Garth Heitshusen, Jan and Gerald Fitts, Robert Reyer worked throughout the church. Many others set up tables and chairs on Saturday and Sunday returned them to wherever they needed to go, and others with cleanup and washing tablecloths and silverware. Thank you Linda Crawford, Ron and Peggy Tremble, Rhonda Hill, Kay Craig, Barbara Tremble, Neal and Karen Dikeman, Chuck and Beverly Davidson, Susan Heitshusen, Kirk Thorpe Stokes, Jennifer Miller and Marguerite Priest . Charlie Craig and Kay made sure flowers were in hanging baskets and pots as we entered TGP.

To Wallace and Lois Henry for hosting Jerry and Myra Rice and to Bob and Laverne Coller for hosting Newton Todd for the weekend.

Thanks to Linda and Ken Crawford for preparing the new directory in time for the event. There are many new gone but not forgottens listed this year.
A special thanks to Laurey Murphy for providing such a meaningful worship service including our former pastors. Also for hosting a dinner for the committee, the pastors and host couples the night before with the assistance of Bill Bryant and Marna Chalker.
Thank you to the stewardship committee of Matt Dikeman, Barbara Lanan, Ron Tremble, and Laurey Murphy for making the day of Jubilee Joy one at which the congregation also express their gratitude and commitment to the vision of this church with their pledges, time and talents.
I thank all the members of the congregation who attended and those former members and friends who returned for the event. It was so great to see members and extended families. I pray that many of you will return to worship with us in the near future.
I thank the Lord for committees. Without the many hands doing the various jobs an event like this would not be easy or run smoothly. We are blessed with a loving, caring, hardworking, willing congregation. This is part of our work in spreading the word of God and living out our vision of serving Jesus Christ.
