Yummy Dessert at PW Luncheon
Several women enjoyed the dessert provided by Lil Drago at the Presbyterian Women’s Bible Study and Luncheon on Wednesday and were interested in the recipe. Lil has graciously shared her recipe.
This is from a Southern Living Our Best Christmas Recipes book from 1995
Brownie Trifle
1 (19.8 ounce) package fudge brownie mix
1/4 cup praline or coffee flavored liqueur (optional)
1 (3.4 ounce) package chocolate fudge instant pudding mix
1 (8 ounce) package HEATH English Toffee Bits with milk chocolate (Kroger has these)
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Prepare brownie mix according to package directions. Bake according to directions in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Prick top of warm brownies at 1 inch intervals with a wooden piack and brush with liqueur, if desired. Cool and crumble brownies into small pieces.
Prepare chocolate fudge pudding mix according to directions on package.
Place half of crumbled brownies in bottom of a 3 quart trifle bowl; top with half each of pudding, toffee bits, and whipped topping. Repeat layers with remaining half of brownies, pudding, toffee bits, and whipped topping. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 8 hours. Garnish with chocolate curls or additional toffee bits.
Yield: 16 to 18 servings.
