Children at the Last Supper Class
Has your child or grandchild ever asked you about the Lord’s Supper? Questions like: Why do we eat only a pinch of bread? Is that really the body of Christ? Why do we get only a little glass of grape juice? Is that his blood?
When are children old enough to do it?
If you are like most parents and grandparents, these questions are difficult to answer for any age but especially children! Part of our covenant in baptism to you is to help with questions like these! It is also part of our responsibility to the children in helping to raise them in the Faith!
So there will be a one-time special class for children who participate in the full worship services. It will be on Sunday, September 28th right after worship in the Gathering Place. It will be in the context of a special lunch with an invitation, the table set with china and silver and candles; and of course, a kid-friendly menu! All of this is the context to go from talking about the special meals we have in our families to the special meal we have as God’s family called the Lord’s Supper. Each child needs to have a parent or grandparent with them as this is an “intergenerational” experience. It will be taught by Kristi Click and Laurey Murphy.
