Hurricane Ida Relief
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is mobilized and already delivering immediate aid to those impacted by Hurricane Ida. The initial assessment of the damage is staggering. The needs of those impacted are changing daily because of lack of access to power, refrigeration, water and housing. This will be a long-term commitment to the people impacted by this catastrophic destruction.
PDA will continue to work with Presbyterian leadership to respond to Hurricane Ida and remain engaged in the recovery efforts during the hurricane season of 2021, during which several named storms are expected to impact the region. After initial needs are addressed, PDA will remain — providing emotional and spiritual care and Long-Term Recovery to address unmet needs.
We invite you to join in this effort!
If you would like to give monetary donations to the effort in South Louisiana, you may do so in one of the following ways:
- Go to the Presbytery of South Louisiana website and click on the “Click Here to Give” banner.
- Go to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance online giving page, which also has information on how to give by phone or mail. PDA is using DR0001698 for the response to Hurricane Ida.
- Contribute to the efforts by donating to the Church. Please make checks payable to SBPC and write “Hurricane Ida Relief” in the memo line.
We want to thank the members and friends of Spring Branch Presbyterian who have already donated to help our neighbors that were impacted by Hurricane Ida. Our church is partnering with three organizations at this time to help with long term efforts for recovery. Members and friends are invited to participate in the opportunities below as they are able. Please contact Miguel in the church office if you have any questions on how to help. The Mission Team will continue to keep everyone informed as we learn more.
