Hearing Assistance in Worship

Posted on October 5, 2014

One of the luxuries we received with our new Sanctuary AV System several years ago was a hearing assistance system, which has been drastically underused until very recently. We have four wireless receivers that can be used anywhere in the Sanctuary, along with earphones and neck loops. The neck loops are for those individuals that have hearing aids equipped with “T” coils. The neck loop connects to the receiver where the earphones would plug in and then goes around your neck, like a necklace. The “T” coil picks up the sound and amplifies it into the ear. You can also bring your own headphones or earphones if you’d like to use them instead of the ones provided. This is the same kind of technology you would receive if you were on a self-guided tour at a museum or a monument, so it is very state of the art. If you would like to use one of these devices, please speak with one of the ushers before the service. Thanks!
