John 20:24-28

Thomas was a realist. He didn’t believe in Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy for he hadn’t seen them and if anything else came up that he couldn’t quite wrap his mind around he wouldnt beat around the bush. He was direct.
Thomas wasn’t there when Jesus showed up at the disciples house. He missed it. When he returned and they told him what they’d seen – let’s just say he didn’t take their word for it. I don’t know if he thought it was a sick joke or if he figured his friends had gone mad. He did what any realist would do, he asked for evidence. “Unless I see him and touch his cut up hands,” he said, “we’re not going to go on with this nonsense.”
Jesus showed back up again and gave Thomas what he needed to believe. Thomas got to see Him, hear Him, and touch Him. It was enough evidence to convince even the greatest doubter. He fell to his feet with only the words “My Lord and my God!” Jesus, satisfied, took it as faith.
