Our Guest Pastor on September 16th is Reverend Mona Lopez
Our Guest Pastor this morning is Reverend Mona Lopez. A native Texan and Houstonian, Reverend Mona S. Lopez graduated from Houston Community College, Southwestern Paralegal School, the University of Houston, and Houston Graduate School of Theology. Rev. Lopez retired from the medical field after 39 years of service. Thirty-four of those years were at Houston’s largest cancer hospital where she served as Chaplain, worked with the Death and Dying and then eventually Hospice Care. Currently, Rev. Lopez volunteers with crises counselling and the Sheriff’s Department, Precinct 2. She is a member of Cathedral of Hope Houston United Church of Christ, and she serves as the Disaster Coordinator of the South Central Conference. Hurricane Harvey was her first disaster.
