Palm Sunday

Posted on March 27, 2015

Sunday is known as Palm/Passion Sunday.  It is the beginning of the holiest week for the Christian faith which is why we call this “Holy Week”  The week begins with the celebration of Palm Sunday but then goes quickly into the ever darkening events of the week ending in silence with the death of Jesus because of God’s passionate love for us shown in the life and death of His only begotten son.  It is through such love, that death does not have the final answer but God in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
To have even a glimpse of such love, you are invited to read Mark’s version of the story through Holy Week in order to prepare for the great Easter Celebration on the first day of next week:  Easter Sunday, April 5th!  Here are the passages from Mark:

                               Palm Sunday              Mark 11:1-11
                               Holy Monday             Mark 11:12-19
                               Holy Tuesday           Mark  11:20-12-37
                               Holy Wednesday        Mark 14:1-11
                               Maundy ThursdayMark 14:12-72
