Rev. Mark Plunkett is our Guest Preacher this Sunday!
Rev. Mark Plunkett is currently the pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church in Cypress, Texas (NW Houston). Mark was a member of Spring Branch Presbyterian Church beginning in the late 1990’s, after attending St. Giles PC for many years. From the early 80’s until 2009, Mark was a teacher in the Spring Branch school system, where he taught several young people from Spring Branch PC. Hearing the call to ministry, Mark began attending seminary at night through the Austin Seminary Houston Extension program. He also preached at several churches around the Houston area, including many times at Spring Branch PC beginning in 2004. Following his call, Mark and his wife, Jeanne, moved to Princeton, NJ, where they lived for two years while Mark finished his Master of Divinity degree. Once he graduated in 2011, Mark and Jeanne returned to Houston, where Mark was called by Heritage to be their next pastor. Mark considers Spring Branch PC to be a place filled with beloved friends. In his spare time, Mark enjoys working on his house, reading, and spending time with his family – especially his grandson, Logan, who attends the Academy.
