Shake it Up One More Time!

Friday was the thrilling conclusion to our wonderful week at Shake It Up Cafe.  We had wonderful fruit smoothies from our Snack Chef Renae Oswald and Snack Chef Laurie Mitchell as well as a delicious meal tonight!  The Recreation Chefs, Parker and Adam along with their assistants did an amazing relay that showed what lending a hand to one another can accomplish.  Music Chef Beverly and her talented trio of musical assistants led the singing tonight and will reprise a Shake It Up Cafe Medley for Worship this Sunday.  Our amazingly talented Bible Story Chef Taryn told the story about the birth of the Church and how we celebrate it these many years later. Our Craft Chefs and all the many helpers and assistants finished the week with a personalized reusable shopping bag.  The colors were delicious!  Our Discovery/Science Chef and all her assistance made ice cream in a bag today! Then tonight showed us some of the more fun experiments from the week.  Our amazing super Tech Chef Emily and her assistance made a video that was real “eye candy” and fun to watch.  We rounded up a baker’s rack of food for the food pantry thanks to our Mission Chef Nina, and although we are sad to see Chef Scraps leave for another VBS program, we are certainly glad that he and Chef Pastor Laurey and Chef Director Renee were here this week to help us to learn the most important recipe there is – God’s recipe for our lives!  Without the Group Leader Chefs and the many assistants from SBPC youth programs and friends as well as the Academy staff and SBPC volunteers we would have not been able “cook” this past week.  One last big thank you to Lavon Barnes for her masterful handling of the copier!  She most certainly deserves the Top Chef award for copying this week!
