On Sunday we will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of our congregation, 70th Anniversary of Boy Scout Troop 478, and 50th Anniversary of the Academy! Immediately following Worship, all are invited to meet on the front steps to mark this occasion with a congregational picture. We will then proceed to the Gathering Place for the special anniversary feast! Thanks be to God!
We will be joined and led in Worship by several familiar faces to our Congregation! Former Pastor, Rev. Dr. Laurey Harrell (November 13, 2006-May 15, 2016); Designated Associate Pastor, Rev. Kristi Blankman (September 14, 2014-August 6, 2017); and by video, Interim Pastor, Rev. Kristin Galle (October 2016-July 6, 2018). Representing the Presbytery is our General Presbyter & Stated Clerk, Rev. Lynn Hargrove.
A special thank you to the members of the Platinum Jubilee Committee who have made this weekend possible: Kevin Boyd, Miguel Carlin, Kay Craig, Sarah Dikeman, Liz & Stephen Earnest, Donald McDaniel, Jennifer Miller, Laurie Mitchell, Jorida Vakiari; and to co-chairs, Patti Nanney and Ethan Mitchell. Thank you also to the Academy staff and Troop 478 leadership for their efforts to the celebration, and to Lu Taylor for creating the updated edition of the Church History.
