Sunday, June 13th: “The Church in the Spirit, Part 4: What Faith Does”
Good Afternoon,
SBPC will hold in-person Sunday School and Worship tomorrow morning at 9:30 and 10:50, respectively. By attending, you are agreeing to follow the guidelines set forth for a safe return. Those guidelines are available at www.springbranchpres.org/covid-19-guidelines.
Our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held immediately following Worship tomorrow morning. A copy of the meeting packet has been sent to your email address. For those attending worship virtually, a Zoom link for joining has also been sent to your email.
The purposes of the meeting are to:
- Elect the Ruling Elders for the Class of 2024
- Approve the changes to the Terms of Call for the Pastor (Rev. Dr. Kevin R. Boyd), as presented in the budget.
- To present the incoming members of the Academy Board, Class of 2024, as approved by Session.
- To present the 2021 Budget (as approved by Session)
- To receive a State of the Church with written reports by the five Ministry Team Leaders.
The Explorers Class will meet in the Fellowship Hall and the Saints Under Construction Class will meet in the Conference Room.
Attached below is the Bulletin for tomorrow morning. We will have copies available for those attending in-person. If you are attending virtually, you may print the Bulletin, or follow along on your smartphone.
Every week, the service will be streamed live to the SBPC YouTube Channel. You can access the direct link for the June 13th Worship Service stream here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1n1QFp1vp8.
The Synod of the Sun’s Network for Dismantling Racism (N4DR) invites you to join us Wednesday, June 16th, at 6:30 pm CDT, when Rev. Dr. Lynn Miller will share insights about the biblical practice of lament and how that can help us heal from trauma. This Zoom workshop is hands-on! We’re going to create and process and share and make space for healing in ways you can experience, then share in your context. If you participated in the 2020 PW Horizons Bible study on Lament, which Lynn wrote, that will provide a good foundation for the practical work here. If not, you’ll be introduced to the practice and then put it to work. Register below or contact Carol Davis (caroldavis@entouch.net) or Denise Wilborn (dwilborn55@gmail.com).
